 Henry is easy to shoe, trailer, bridle, saddle and harness ... he stands calmly still in place.

Henry’s reliability and quietness shine under demanding circumstances on the trail, in the show ring, at the parade, or handle crowds at a festival.  Henry has competed in many events at the Astro Dome. The biggest event we are proud of him about is his calmly packing out 500# of elk.

          Henry is a sorrel john (gelding) mule with a flaxen mane and a full thick flaxen colored tail that almost touches the ground.  He has a really nice cream colored nose, a touch light cotton color around his calm eyes. Henry is a big mule at 15+ hands tall.16 - 17 years of age. He is a strong stout mule that tips the scale around 1200 pounds of pure driving-packing-driving mule. This mule easily carries a large person all day over demanding terrain with no difficulty. Henry’s good conformation stands upon his strong foundation of excellent medium bone and solid hard black hooves inherited from his Belgium draft horse momma mare’s genetics and mammoth jack sire.

                Mules at age 13 -16 are just coming into their mental & physical prime.  It is not unusual for a healthy mule to be working and riding the trails in good health at the age of 30 to 35 years.Henry has his whole life of 16 + more years driving, packing, riding ahead of him.  

  He will follow another mule or horse all day with a novice rider on his saddle with his ears flopping in the relaxed position or he is also at ease leading on a trail ride with an expert in the saddle challenging the trail. Another mule or horse can follow closely on this mule’s tail & he does not care, feel threatened, nor does he threaten the close following equine.  This mule in no dead head, Henry can really cover the ground and travel with an experienced rider in his saddle.
