General McCrystal honorable?

McCrystal had a fundamental flaw for a good general officer ... McArthur had the same flaw ... the Army has a chain of command and a commander and chief whether they like him or not the President is the commander in chief . If that 4 star general did not like the color of our flag he still must salute it, shut up, use the chain of command and not wash the shit out of his camo colored shorts in public.

If McCrystal was not an egomaniac who forgot how to play the game then he would still be commanding troops. He let us and his troops down.

It appears that this general put himself in the position to be fired so he could take his baseball and go home. He knew exactly what he was doing ... using this maneuver in the face of the impending failure in Afghanistan that debacle will not be McCrystal’s legacy.

Instead his legacy is one of disobedience and shame during war time for disrespecting his commanding officers in public instead of doing business behind closed doors in their faces. I believe my fellow Army officers called his calculated actions “being chicken shit”.

Frankly, I was shocked when he went to the public news media ... that is not how it is done in our military system. He deserved to be fired.

Was his judgment that bad ... NO on the contrary ... the failed general made an on purpose “fire me” action in my opinion.

You and I both knew and worked within the armed forces chain of command.

I may be wrong, but that is how I feel today.
