More good news from Latana and her Rancho Santiago

Greetings Jim and all.....

Haven't heard anything from y'all in quite some time, so I'm just dropping in to say hello and to send a picture of Diamond Lil in her summer finery.

Haven't done any camping, but we have climbed into the mountain a few times.  When we went back east to visit our grandkids, I brought a picture of how my Tucker fit Lilly....I haven't been entirely pleased with the fit.  They told me, at my favorite HUGE tack shop, that she needed a wide.  That, coupled with the need of a larger seat for Tom, encouraged me to buy another Tucker, a wide with a 17.5 seat.  I'm AMAZED at the difference.  Lilly's walk and trot dramatically changed....bigger, smoother steps.  Plus the new Tucker is western and I'm finding that having a horn when you're ponying any animal is really convenient for those quick moments when you need to drag a donkey who says, half way up a steep arroyo wall, "I'm tired" !!!!!

Lil continues to be awesome.  I trust her with my life, which I can't say about my horse who is, though excellent,is  not bombproof.  Her work ethic is awesome as well.   She bangs on the stall or gate, whichever she's near, when I pull the horse out and get him ready to ride.

Hope you and yours are well, Jim....
Warm regards,
Latana

Here is Lilly, unbathed, not brushed, no fancy spray on her....she's just a gleaming picture of health.  (except her barrel, which STILL holds some winter hair)
