Read through this opinion from a construction worker in Fort McMurray. I think he did not wear his hard hat and at least suffered some sun damage to the brain. My retort is below his stuff.
"I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes, and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to earn that pay check, I work on a rig site for a Fort McMurray construction project. At any time I am required to pass a random urine test, with which I have no problem. HOWEVER, what I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them? Understand - I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do on the other hand have a problem with helping someone sit on their fanny, drinking beer and smoking dope. Could you imagine how much money this country would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check? Something has to change in this country, and soon."

Dr. Jimbo's Response
No offense meant to you personally Bubba, but my stand is strongly taken when it comes to my rights in "the land of the free". Of course, the loss of individual rights in what was the "U.S.A. land of the free" is a concern of mine. Once we give up a right we never never never ever get it back. I now know about you ... but me ... I am not going to take a pee test to prove I am not on drugs ... I am not on drugs ... I have never been on drugs ... it is unacceptable to me to be forced to take a urine or other drug test just because some company's Gestapo agent points to me or you in that long line strung out before the gas chambers and says "you are it".
If I am on hard times and poor then I am assumed guilty until I prove myself innocent? ... NOT ... this is not Mexico where folks are guilty until proven innocent ... Screw them all ... I am not urinating in their drug test cup because I am innocent and I do not have to prove a anything.
The construction guy says "I have no problem helping people getting back on their feet" ... however... if a person is poor and down therefore the impoverished are to be considered guilty and must be proven innocent by a piss test while the moneyed gentry are exempted from testing?
I like the Future Farmers of America's creed which in part states "less need for charity and more of it when needed".
This poor guy on the construction job has given up his rights and submitted to an infringement of his liberty because it is a "random" drug test. The poor sap doesn't even know that he is down on his knees in front of the "man's" dirty black boots.
The gas ovens at Auschwitz were also "random" but the randomness did not make the ovens of death OK. This is the same type of "just go with the flow & don't make waves" thinking that fits in with the jungle Cool Aide line in Guyana at the Jim Jones festival.
The lead line in fostering the ignoring the American tradition of "Innocent until proven guilty" is used by the Texas education moguls and local school boards to dictate that athletes can be randomly tested because athletics are extracurricular. There is nothing extra about school district events and programs. The athletic field, gyms, equipment, transportation, and teacher/coaches are all paid for out of education funds derived from public tax money. There is nothing "extra" about it.
The Texas public schools have further perpetrated this usurpation of individual rights by espousing this same "random" test moon walk talk. In the 02-21-09 edition of the Lubbock Avalanche Journal it is reported that "... only seven positive results in 19,000 random school athlete drug tests ... at a cost $6 million cost were discovered". Could it be that $6 million could be better spent for the Texas public schools for prevention and counseling. SAY WHAT! $6,000.000.00 pissed down the tubes for nothing.
We Americans need to toughen up and get a grip on it again. This weak, get in the line thinking, ask no questions, and make no stand makes no sense to me. It is never right to be a wussy just because the "Man" will run over us "randomly" from time to time. Hard working construction guy take a look in the mirror and just notice the tire tracks across your face.
The watering down of our American rights and the dumbing down of the general populace is disgusting.
God Bless our real America. I remain vigilant and armed.
